Luxurious limited edition FAB fridge art
Smeg have teamed up with famed Italian fashion house Dolce&Gabbana to transform Smeg’s much loved retro style FAB fridges into works of art.
Although Smeg and Dolce&Gabbana belong to two different creative sectors, they are united by a tradition of ‘Made in Italy’ excellence. The two companies also share a deep respect for tradition and their respective creativity allows them to combine different eras, specialties and sensibilities.
The results of this unique partnership are 100 exclusive hand painted FAB28 fridges with stunning Dolce&Gabbana art. Each fridge features images by Sicilian artists: lemons, the trinacria symbol, cart wheels, medieval knights, classic floral motifs and battle scenes – all distinctive elements of the poetic marionette theater and the Sicilian Cart as well as important aspects of the aesthetic of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
Sicilian painters, highly skilled in the complex decorative arts and ‘treasures of the past’, turn FAB fridges into interpretations of Sicilian folklore; the results of passion, profound creativity and a sense of belonging to their land
The collaboration is the ultimate collection of one-of-a-kind products that combine Smeg quality and technology with Dolce&Gabbana’s creativity and masterful artisan workmanship.
These luxurious FAB fridges are on display in Milan during Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2016 from 12 to 17 April.
