Smeg launched its new generation dishwashers in May 2011 - with a number of models distinguished for their five star WELS water conservation rating, four star energy rating, intelligent wash programmes, 15 place setting capacity and self-opening door (to further reduce energy consumption).

Six months down the track and all models have sold extremely well, in particular the two premium models - DWAF152T and DWAI152XT. Both models feature a dedicated cutlery drawer (delivering a full 15 place settings) and the ingenious Enersave Plus option. This provides significant energy saving by reducing the temperature of the final rinse. It also automatically opens the door at the end of the drying cycle, thereby delivering a completely dry load without any further energy consumption.

According to Smeg Australia's managing director, Andrew Cronin, it is these innovative features, creating genuine reductions in water and energy consumption, that have created widespread interest and acceptance of the range.

"Consumer interest in energy and water savings is at an all time high and Smeg has done well to foresee this and lead the market in meeting consumer demand. This, together with truly inspired features such as the super-efficient orbital wash system and the intuitive aquatest function - whereby the appliance senses the 'dirt' levels within the load and adjusts its programme accordingly - have cemented Smeg's position as the innovator in the Australian dishwasher market," said Mr Cronin.

"Smeg also believes strongly in competitive pricing - but never at the cost of quality. Today's consumer is more keenly aware of price but is also cognisant of the difference between value for money and inferior goods at knock-down prices. We continue to invest heavily in research and development to deliver the most sophisticated, efficient, environmentally responsible appliances at a price that is as keenly competitive as possible," he said.

Smeg's collection of 15 dishwasher models provide numerous choices in both feature options and colour (black, white and stainless steel).

Promotions running on dishwashers currently include the $100 cashback on the DWA149W and $200 cashback on the DWA147X. Both run until January 31, 2012.
